Hidden stash of food, clothes and supplies found during weeklong manhunt likely left by Pennsylvania escapee, official says (CNN) — A bag covered by a tarp and hidden under a log was almost certainly used by Michael Burham, who has been on the run for about a week since escaping a jail in northwestern Pennsylvania, a state patrol official said Thursday. At a daily media update on the manhunt for Burham, who allegedly escaped through a hole in the gated covering of an exercise room at the jail in Warren County, State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens showed a photo of the stash as an example of the stockpiles they have found in the search.“It contains clothing, some food and some other materials that someone might need if they were trying to exist in the woods,” Bivens said. He said it was found in a wooded area near the city of Warren. “We do believe that this one was his.”Bivens wouldn’t disclose any other details about the bag, like where in the area it was found, saying he knows a lot of people will be out hiking and biking this weekend and they should keep an eye out for similar caches. The ...

Howie Carr: John Kerry’s jet-setting heats up House session

Howie Carr: John Kerry’s jet-setting heats up House session Boy, did the United States dodge a bullet in 2004 when John Forbes Kerry was not elected president. That’s my takeaway from the testimony yesterday of the “climate czar” under oath in front of a Congressional committee. As disastrous as George W. Bush’s second term was, Kerry’s presidency would have been a catastrophe. This isn’t a new revelation, but every time he steps out in public, Kerry just reminds us how lucky we are, or were, since obviously under Biden we have now run out of luck.First of all, what’s up with his face? (And no jokes about long faces, please.)He’s going to be 80 in December. But no wrinkles. What’s his secret? I have my suspicions but, like the Secret Service in its now-finished White House cocaine probe, I have “no leads.”Still, what was that line of desiccated skin under both his eyes, running across the bridge of his nose? Is there a botoxologist in the house who can provide a clinical diagnosis? And what about the private jets? That’s what those bourgeois Re...
